The Maliotis Greek Choir

The Maliotis Greek Choir was formed in January 2019.  Song selections are based on a diverse repertoire of Greek art songs (“entechna”) and traditional songs from the islands and the mainland.  Vocal arrangements are often created by choir director and singer/composer Panayota Haloulakou. Weekly practice includes body awareness exercises and stretches, a vocal warm-up, and learning the songs together.  Music reading skills are not a prerequisite, as we will be learning the music by ear.  Our values include friendship, encouragement, open-mindedness, compassion, and our goal is to build a strong musical community.  This is a non-competitive environment.
The Maliotis Greek Choir has participated in several performances so far such as a summer concert at the Maliotis Center in June 2019, the Maliotis 2nd Annual Greek Music Festival, and a Christmas show also at Maliotis Center in December 2019.
